Using Copyright Protected Music At Your Wedding

As a full-time Professional DJ, MC and Guitarist, I take pride in ensuring I have the correct operating licenses in place.

I am a fully licensed DJ Performer with the PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia), and additionally, I am also licensed to copy music (this is a separate license).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is actually illegal for a DJ (or anyone) to publicly play music within Australia without a PPCA licence. There may be several different licenses required for your DJ to play music at your wedding venue(s).

 

Guitar/Vocal Performing

I am also a registered performer with APRA AMCOS (Australasian Performing Right Association Limited, and Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society Limited) which covers me performing other artists' music as a live performer on the guitar in public.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: It may actually be illegal for your chosen musician to publicly perform the music works of other artists within Australia without being a registered member of APRA AMCOS. It may be a legal requirement for them to register their performance and submit a job log/listing of all songs performed at your function.
