Selecting Music For Your Wedding Reception

The music chosen for your wedding reception is an important part of the planning process. This is where, together, our planning sets the mood for an evening of celebration with your family and guests.

The music selstion is made from a wide range of eras dating back to the 50's & 60's – right through to the current hits of today.

I welcome your full input into the music. Many couples leave the selection to my vast years of entertaining experience, but I certainly encourage you to choose as many songs that you would like to hear at your reception.

Also, just as important, is to create a list of songs that you definitely do not want played at your reception. Then, even if requested by guests, I ensure you don't hear these songs on the night.

Of course, with song selections, you should draw a clear distinction between songs you would like to hear if friends were over for dinner, as opposed to songs you and your guests would dance to. There is usually a clear distinction between the two.

Should I realise during your reception that your song choices are clearly not making people want to dance, then I will revert to my own knowledge of what songs will do that for you. Of course, the occasional cocktail wedding may not require dancing, so your song selection may be suitable all night.

Cultural music—no problem!

I am able to DJ receptions for any cultural background. I'm happy to play any music you need to make your wedding reception the celebration of a lifetime. You can supply me 100% of the music you want played if that is what you want. I aim to make this an easy and stress-free process for you both.

All music supplied on CD by wedding couples must be delivered to me at least one week prior to the reception. This is to ensure that all CDs play correctly on the equipment, and make alternative arrangements in the event that it does not.

It is also assumed by Top-Notch Entertainment Pty Ltd that all wedding couples have legally purchased their music (i.e. they are the legal owners of the CD).
