The Mother Son Dance At Your Wedding Reception

Wedding Reception Mother Son Dance

The Mother Son Dance is a popular feature of western weddings, and is generally performed after the bridal waltz and often performed at the start of the second dance bracket (after the main meal), or near the desert.

This dance is meant to symbolise a mother stepping-down as the primary care giver, and handing her son over to his new wife. Whilst the actions of 'stepping-down' and 'handing-over' are not overtly performed, the music during the dance should be reflective of the mother's memories of her son's life thus far.

Sometimes it can be difficult choosing a song, so we list some of our most requested mother son dance songs here.
